“HHF brings health to inaccessible areas even on donkeys.”
“HHF mache pote sante menm kote milèt pa ka rive.”
Last year, HHF conducted 19,695 pediatric consultations, 35,124 adult clinical consultations, and 1,565 diabetic consultations. HHF served 22,473 children aged 0-5.
96% of children under 1 were fully vaccinated, 75% of children 0-6 months were exclusively breastfed, and 21,784 children were treated for intestinal worms.
Our team also conducted 2,923 mobile clinics, 19,761 home visits, and 1,126 health education presentations benefiting 43,099 participants.
HHF continues to prioritize the health of pregnant women, conducting 17,133 prenatal consultations and making 80 obstetrical emergency evacuations from the mountain villages. Our Center of Hope provided prenatal care for 203 high-risk pregnancies, of which 202 women survived.
Our Mental Health Department saw 5,730 new patients, many of whom witnessed or experienced horrific gang violence. We also provided 797 individual therapy sessions and 67 group therapy sessions.
Food distribution is more crucial this year. In addition to our feeding program for malnourished women, children, and the chronically ill, HHF has been distributing food kits containing items such as rice, beans, corn, pasta, canned fish, and cooking oil.
Last year, we distributed 19,930 food kits and 3,807 cans of powdered milk to supplement infant nutrition. With rigorous monitoring and supplemental food distribution, 96.7% of children under our care did not suffer from malnutrition.
“We have food for three months and it’s from the grace of HHF. Thank you very much.”
“Avek Kits mange sa, mwen gen mange pou 3 mwa lakay mwen. Merci anpil HHF.”
HHF has also partnered with a local youth group to plant and distribute 10,000 moringa trees to implement more sustainable food security activities. We have also been distributing coconut trees to new mothers and sharing knowledge in local schools regarding sustainable agricultural practices.
